About Bella Vista

Bella Vista Living

Today I went on an open house tour around the Bella Vista area and would like to share with everybody what I saw/learned.  As the locals of Center City Philadelphia know, Bella Vista is a very nice neighborhood that offers many different styles of living.   From modern mansions to contemporary Trinity’s there is something for everybody.

With many old tree lined streets and beautiful brick facades that line the streets of BV you cannot go wrong.  The uniqueness of Bella Vista homes attract many people, (such as myself) and being one of the only neighborhoods in Philadelphia that can offer a million dollar home on one block and a $200K starter home on the next block is really impressive.  Many people might say “well a million dollar home in the same neighborhood as a $200K home is going to bring down the values of the more expensive homes, right”?  WRONG!  This may happen in the suburbs with 49 houses priced at $200K and right in the middle of them they throw in number 50 and make it four times the size and put a price tag of $1 million on it.  This scenario would not make sense and would definitely lower the value of the million dollar home but this does not describe BV. The variety of options and styles that BV offers only adds to the value of living in such a wonderful neighborhood.  This being said, BV offers one of the best opportunities for resale with the prices in this neighborhood only getting higher.

Not only is the housing great in BV but the neighborhood itself is great for everyone from newlyweds to big families to empty nesters moving in from the suburbs who still want that homey feel.  With parks sprinkled throughout the area and many friendly people walking the streets there is plenty to do outside and don’t forget about the great local diners and coffee shops on many of the corners.  You might be asking yourself “what if I move here and I do not own a car?”  If you are new to the Bella Vista area and do not own a car there is no need to worry.  BV is within walking distance of pretty much anything you might need from CVS Pharmacy to Hollywood Video from local grocery stores to the Italian Market where you can get everything from fresh produce to live seafood.  If there is something not within walking distance it is not hard to jump on one of the many Septa busses running throughout the neighborhood and get to where you have to go.  Also Center City Real Estate offers a unique style of transportation for those of us who do not own a car, it is called Philly Car Share and it is basically a non-profit organization that provides members with access to a fleet of vehicles on an hourly basis and once you join the community you will get a personal key to hundreds of cars parked steps from your office and home.
