Fishtown

Located just north east of Northern Liberties, this southern most neighborhood of the Philadelphia River Wards has experienced a dramatic growth. In the past few years, Frankford Avenue and East Girard Avenue have become the nerve center for some of the best restaurant concepts and the accompanying swanky bars. The near-mystifying criss-cross of the remaining streets are lined with affordable row homes adjacent to new apartment and condominium buildings. The waterfront border of Fishtown is home to the Sugar House casino, the beautiful Penn Treaty park, and the old electric factory. The Delaware River running and biking trail starts in Fishtown and travels down the river to Washington Ave and beyond.
